FAQ

What is SkyTracks?

SkyTracks is an online music collaboration and creation platform. Entirely browser-based and audio file driven, it works with files exported from any music software. You can also record audio and MIDI tracks directly in your browser.

How does it work?

After logging in, you can create a New Project, and once in your project, you upload your audio or MIDI files to build your multi-track project by exporting them from your DAW or record new tracks in your browser using your soundcard or MIDI controller. Then you can invite people you wish to collaborate with so they can add their own tracks to your project.

How much does it cost?

The Free Access Membership allows you to create one project, although you can have an unlimited amount of projects shared with you. These projects will appear in your “Shared With Me” tab in the Projects page.

The Pro Membership is 6.95$ per month and allows you to create up to 10 projects and a total of 10 gigabytes of storage.

If you need more projects you also have the option to upgrade to a Studio account, which gives you 25 projects and 25 GB of storage for 15.95$ per month.

You can cancel your paid subscription at anytime.

How do I add a collaborator to my project?

To add a collaborator in a project, you just have to enter the email address of the person in the Collaborators tab in the Projects page. If the person doesn’t already have a SkyTracks account, we will generate an email message for you to send.

Even with a Free Account, collaborators can be invited to work on as many projects as they want.

What can a collaborator do in my project?

The collaborators can add tracks, record directly in their browser for easy overdubs, delete their own tracks and add time-based comments.

How do I upload files to SkyTracks?

Upload tracks by dragging audio or video files right into the browser window when a project is open. You can also click on the Import button in the Tracks page.

What kind of files can I upload?

The file formats you can upload are WAV, AIFF and MP3 audio files, MIDI files, MP4 or MOV video files, and PDF files for charts and lyrics.

Can I upload videos to SkyTracks?
